How can we select gas appliance correctly?
Gas appliances include the gas stoves and
gas water heater. To ensure safe operation, gas appliances shall be
selected and purchased correctly. The correct selection and purchase
mainly means that your gas type must be matched with the specified gas
type of gas appliance. The current gas type mainly includes 3 kinds:
pipeline manufactured gas, pipeline natural gas, and bottled gas (a
small amount of pipeline LPG is available in some regions).
The chemical
compositions, supply pressures, and burning characteristics of
different gas supplies are different, and a type of gas appliances is
designed and manufactured as per single gas supply; Therefore different
gas appliances shall be adopted when gas supplies are different. This is
the reason why the gas cook tops and water heaters specially designed
for manufactured gas, natural gas, and LPG are available.
Guidance to Operation and Maintenance of Gas Water Heaters
1. Gas water heater shall be correctly
operated as per the instruction manual. Check the water heaters for
normal combustion when it is in operation. The water heaters shall be
operated as per correct procedures; in other words, to start a water
heater, turn on water first, and then turn on gas; when operation is
over, turn off gas first, and then turn off water.
2. Prior to operation of a gas water heater, the doors and windows must
be opened, or exhaust fan must be turned on. Gas water heater needs a
certain amount of air while burning. If sufficient air cannot be
guaranteed, the dangers like hypoxia or carbon monoxide poisoning may
take place. You had better not use a gas water heater continuously for a
long time. If many persons want to take a bath, a certain time interval
shall be kept.
3. Any peculiar smell or flame detected in process of operation
indicates that gas leak takes place in the gas water heater or gas
pipeline. It is required to stop the machine immediately, turn off the
gas valve, and open the doors and windows to prevent any danger from
occurring. In such a case, it is strictly forbidden to use open fire,
turn off/on the switches, or plug/unplug any electric apparatus indoors.
Please contact the professional maintenance personnel for inspection
and repair in time.
4. The gas water heaters shall be checked regularly:
(1) Prepare and apply a right amount of lather onto the gas circuit and
the connections so as to check the gas pipe and external rubber tube for
any crackle, aging, and looseness. If any, maintenance shall be
conducted in time. The loosened connections shall be tightened, and the
broken pipes shall be replaced. No idea of leaving things to chance is
allowed.
(2) Check the filtering gauze of intake valve. Water in some regions is
relatively hard. Scale may be accumulated on the filtering gauze of
intake valve after a long service time, resulting in jamming of the
intake valve. To remove the scale, just unscrew the intake pipe, and
take out and wash the filtering gauze.
(3) Heat exchangers and primary burners shall be checked once every half
6 months or 1 year for any jamming. If any, cleaning shall be conducted
in time. Furthermore, the fins fitted inside a heat exchanger shall be
cleaned regularly, and the filth adhered onto the surfaces shall be
removed with specific purpose tools. Otherwise, incomplete combustion
may take place, harmful gases may be generated, or even poisoning may
take place.
(4) Check the spray nozzle, ignition needle and induction pin. If the
gas water heater is operated for long time, charcoal may be accumulated
at the spray nozzle, ignition pin and induction pin, which may have
adverse influences upon normal ignition. Therefore, it is necessary to
check the spray nozzle and induction pin regularly in the process of
operation, and thoroughly remove the charcoal once you found it.
5. The watering parts of the control system shall be replaced regularly;
the control system shall be checked regularly, and repair shall be
carried out in time if system failure or response speed slow-down takes
place. When the operation of the gas water heater with bilateral
detachable boards, scale shall be removed and gasket packing shall be
replaced in time.
6. In winter, water remaining inside the machine shall be bled
thoroughly as per the instruction manual every time operation is over so
as to avoid freezing that may damage gas water heaters.
Guidance to Operation and Maintenance of Gas Stoves
1.
Regularly check the connections of gas supply line for leak, check the
rubber hose for good condition, aging and crackles; if any, they shall
be replaced in time. The steps are given as follows:
(1) The user may prepare a right amount of soapy water for leak hunting.
(2) Turn on the gas valve to ensure unblocked gas supply.
(3) Check the connections of relief pressure valve for gas leak (for
liquefied gas only); Allow a little soapy water to drip onto the
connection between the relief pressure valve and liquefied gas cylinder,
observe the connections for any bubbles; if any, consult the consumer
for replacing the relief pressure.
(4) Check the connections of connecting hose for gas leak: Same as the methods described above.
(5) If gas leak cannot be solved by the above-mentioned method, a door-to-door inspection is required.
2. The users of gas stoves shall clean the fire holes in the fire cover
to avoid jamming; the foreign materials such as dust and cobwebs inside
the end block shall also be removed regularly.
3. The fire covers of gas stoves must be replaced with the genuine
products manufactured by the original manufacturer if they are damaged.
They must not be replaced with random products in order to avoid poor
combustion.
4. The gas inlet hose subjected to long-term operation may get aged or
damaged, resulting in potential safety hazards. Therefore, a gas inlet
hose showing aging shall be replaced in time, and it must not be
repaired with adhesive plaster and then put into operation again.
5. The users who adopt manufactured gas of other special gas supplies
shall clean the holes in the fire cover regularly so as to avoid
jamming.
6. Different gas supplies required different gas stoves. Please pay
attention to that in process of selection and purchase. If the gas
supply you adopt is changed, you must ask the original manufacturer to
modify your cook tops accordingly before they are put into operation
again.
7. When a gas stoves burner is in operation, the operator shall not stay
far away from it. In case of gas leak or flame quenching due to
occasional causes(wind blowing, or water overflowing ), the main switch
of gas supply shall be turned off at once; open the doors and windows
for rapid ventilation; never light a fire or switch on/off a electric
apparatus so as to prevent electric sparks from detonating the gas.
